    2016 Mardi Gras Day Parade Details

    Portland Mardi Gras Parade on Mississippi Avenue
    Tuesday Feb 9th

    Line Up: 6:00pm at Victoria Bar, 4835 N Albina Ave
    Start Time: 7:00pm
    Route: 9 blocks on Mississippi Avenue – Starting at Victoria Bar, heading south to end at Ecliptic Brewing, 825 North Cook

    Family friendly parade – all ages FREE event – kids welcome!

    Music: THREE Bands! Transcendental Marching Band, Bloco Alegria Samba Band & Skull and Bones second line band provide festive Mardi Gras music in the parade.

    Following the parade multiple venues on Miss Ave. host Mardi Gras music!
    Enjoy the Krewe Loose Cajun Band at Ecliptic Brewing at the post-parade party.
    Check out the kid’s costume awards at Mississippi Pizza immediately following the parade

  • Mardi Gras Day Parade Details for 2015

    February 17th: Mardi Gras Day Parade on Mississippi Avenue!
    Start: Ecliptic Brewing
    825 North Cook St. Portland, OR 97227
    – Music from Transcendental Brass Band starts at 5:30 at Ecliptic
    – Kids, wagons, pets, bikes, all welcome

    Start time: Parade will roll at 6:30.

    Parade end: back at Eliptic – Parade turns around at Skidmore Ave

    After parade: Trophies awarded for parade participants! Meet at Mississippi Pizza around 7:30 for music with the Krewe Loose Cajun Band and awards “ceremony”

    Music also across the street at Bar Bar with Love Bomb a Go Go marching band!

    Start at Ecliptic Brewing. Parade starts at 6:30 pm, so get there earlier to get in the line up. All ages, all community invited to parade along! Wear your best Mardi Gras attire, flashing lights, what have you! Kids and pets welcome. Join us afterwords for live music and dancing –

  • 2015 Last Thursday and Trolley Gras!

    The Krewe will be out Thursday night January 29th to parade down Alberta Street for the montly Last Thursday party! Look for us in lighted costumes. Get yourself some beads!

    Saturday January 31st the Krewe parades on Portland Trolleys around town for our second Trolley Gras! Modeled after the Phunny Phorty Phellows in New Orleans we’ll cover more ground with our trolley parade! Look for us on Mississippi Ave, SE Division, and who knows where. Join us afterwards at Mississippi Pizza for music with the Krewe Loose Cajun Band around 9pm.

    Friday February 6th tune in to KBOO Community Radio (90.7 FM and streaming at www.kboo.fm) at 1:30 pm for a special Mardi Gras edition of the Songwriter’s Circle with our own Phil G and special guests. They’ll play carnival music to get you in the mood for Mardi Gras – and maybe a ticket give away as well.

    February 14th – Valentine’s Day and the Portland Mardi Gras Ball! Doors at 7:30 at the Wonder Ballroom

    February 16th: Lundi Gras! Tapalaya’s also hosting a special Lundi Gras Dinner on Feb 16th. (Not neccessarily a Krewe event, but a Mardi Gras Event!)

    Past 2015 Events:
    January 21st: Louisiana Culture Night at Tapalaya Restaurant: Tickets have already sold out for this evening of Louisiana cuisine, music and storytelling.

    January 29th: Look for the Krewe on Alberta Street for Last Thursday! We’ll meet at 6pm near 27th and Alberta. And we’ll have beads for you! Join us for a fun evening.

    Saturday January 31st: Trolley Gras Returns! Mysti Krewe takes over 2 Trolleys from the Portland Trolley company for a parade-on-wheels throughout the Portland Metro area – culminating in music and dancing at Mississippi Pizza for the Krewe Loose Cajun Band at 9pm.
