Goode Werks Krewe and Donations

Mysti Krewe of Nimbus Lagniappe – Good Werks Krewe
“Lagniappe” in Cajun French means “a little something extra.” That little something extra is exactly why the Goode Werks Krewe was formed – to raise money for causes we support in Oregon and Louisiana, and to provide volunteer assistance to organizations in Portland. In 2019 the Krewe is raising money for two music education non-profit organizations –  Ethos Music Center in Portland and The Roots of Music in New Orleans!

Ethos, Inc.
Portland, Oregon

Founded in 1998, Ethos provides group classes, private lessons, summer camps and music outreach programs to over 7,000 youth across Oregon. Ethos has been named one of the top 50 after school arts programs by the President’s Commission for the Arts and Humanities on eight separate occasions. Ethos is dedicated to the promotion of music education for all youth, regardless of their socioeconomic status or geographic location.

The Roots of Music
New Orleans, Louisiana

The Roots of Music empowers the youth of New Orleans through music education, academic support, and mentorship, while preserving and promoting the unique musical and cultural heritage of our city. We serve kids ages 9-14 from low-income households, and provide our students with hot meals and round-trip transportation to reduce common barriers to participation. Five days a week, 12 months a year, our program delivers over 2,500 hours of music education and other academic tutoring, over 30,400 nutritious hot meals, 1,400 bus journeys, and supplies over 150 instruments for student use.
